Tonight I allow my mind to wander to where it's most complacent.
Upon the memories my yearning heart becomes impatient.
I remember the morning dew that glistened in the fields.
I remember the storms that made the great trees kneel.
I remember the birds that sang to the rising sun.
And by God I could name every one.
I remember the gentle showers in which I used to play.
I remember the dedicated farmers at work every day.
I remember the nightingale and owl that rose with the moon.
I remember the heat waves that came in june.
I remember the hidden waterfall only I knew.
There is where my yearning heart flew.
Though these memories are that of a childhood long lost.
Sometimes in life its good to let time pause.
