My Carol
My Charroll Sung — 1641
Arise Arise
Dull fancy from the bed of Earth
And that lowe strain
Besotts thy vayne
That soe thou maist devise
Some record of that famous berth
Which about this time as our date will have
One sonn for all the rest the Father guave.
Leav to the Be
To set a valuation
On this or that
Fair guarden platt
Ther t'brouse some flowr or tree
And to some forraign nation
To crown their Annalls with the Pellican
Or far-fetch Cordiall Mirrabolan.
Heer's Comfort more
A guift that's farr beyond all worth
The Curious mind
Could ever find
In what a Plant e're bore
Or barren wildernes brought forth
Sweetnes exceeds the Bee's bagg and such good
As prov'd our strong restorative by's blood.
