To my Lady Kat Scot

To my Lady Kat[herine] Scot

Sithence faithless man
Is growne
Soe that noe protestation
Or Covenant alone
Can tie
His wonderings from mutability
I shall for Ever hence forth vowe
To love a Scott, but non but you

That Nations Trot
To this
Must Challenge now noe other oath
But what Negative is
And soe
I am Contented to pay what I owe
Swere to my power never more to be
Behoulding to the Scottish Pedlery

But to advance
The Force
O'th'selfe denying ordinance
I doe without remorse
Conclude
I have noe power but whats from you endude
And in that Posture doe desire to stand
You shall alone approve of and Command

To which I'le Call
for Pledg
Not the Securing Goldsmiths Hall
Or any Priviledg
That saith
I may be bowld upon the Publique faith
Noe, my assurance by your Goodness signd
Bids mee presume you will not prove unkind

And then whats sayd
Or done
Heer in shall never mak afraid
But that oblivion
May Pass
To pardon all the Sinn what e're it was
And by free grace from your Diviner will
Create a Rapture from my rustick quill.
