The Old Woman in Spring

I envy your contorted bole,
You ancient tree. By every soul
Your youthfulness of heart is seen,
Because you fountain into green.

Unaltered as in winter now
My twisted hands and wrinkled brow;
Yet my heart, too, though none believes,
Is happy with a thousand leaves.
