In partem Capitis vicessimi primi Sti Mathaei

In partem Capitis vicessimi primi S[anc]ti Mathaes

When towrds Jerusalem our Saviour went
He chose noe state nor Pompous ornament
But rather on an Asses coult did ride
To cast a more contempt on this worlds pride
Yet multitudes their garments spredding lay
And cut doun Palms to strew them in his way
How seasonably was this done when He
Dessigned was a speedy Victory
The bloody Day approaching which should tell
His Conquest over Death the Grave and Hell.
