Purananuru - Part 346

Her former nurse feeds the daughter and tells her, “You're not grown
even now. You must still drink milk. And I have some here!” Her mother
does not object. Her older brother, a brave young boy, claims he has
some learning. Her father, powerful in battle, holds his shining spear.
But her beauty will be wasted with no one to desire it so that this lowly
place will turn barren. Once those who must die are gone,
no one will remain to protect the families of the living. How certain it all is!
