Of Self-Esteem

SELF-SATISFACTION lights the Pigling's Eye,
Which proves the Pig not hard to satisfy.

" W HO'D ever fancy, " mused the wise old Frog,
" That I was once a simple Pollywog! "

" What Fruits, " the Speaker jeered, " can Science show? "
And Science brought his Words by Radio.

B ECAUSE the Well resounds, it does not follow
That it is Deep; it may be merely Hollow.

A Folly wrecks itself; so wherefore trouble
To use a Pin to prick a bursting Bubble?
