The Silent Bard

What was my drink and meat
Is now my need.
Only is hunger sweet
To those who feed.

Only is thirsting dear
To those who know of wine,
For all they cry the sheer
Beauty of the vine.

I cleared the feast and learned
All was as before.
I am a beggar turned
From every door.
