The Sister of Mercy

The white sister quietly opens the door and fans over you with perfumed wings. The white sister smoothes your feverish brow with little hands. The good sister wants to hear the beating of your heart. The little sister bent her head to you; white myrtles about your heart and blue meteors before your eyes. White caressing kittens about your throat and transparent limbs at your side. The heavens are near, the stars are far away .
