Tragic Poem of Wold, The - Act 5, Scene 3

SCENE III. — The Main Gate of Wold Castle. The Duchess OF W OLD is seen walking on the battlements .

Enter A FRA , running .

A FRA . She-dragon, thou on high,
Walking alone there, terrible, look down:
Open your gates: He's here: Let in the man!

Enter L ORD W OLD and P HILIP DE V ALMA .

D UCH . My Lord, the sun is in the eastern trees.
W OLD . I'm here, my mother.
D UCH . You've done well Come in.
A FRA . Let me in, too. I'll to the tops o' the towers,
And look down on it all!
