Upon a fine Shower that fel on the 16th of Aprill-1660

Drop down Thy Power
Thou kind and Grass-refreshing Aprill Shower
That Every Flower
Participating Thy Auspitious Dewe
May truly Shewe
Forth May in Triumph, when perfum'd again
With Rose and Lillie Guardens Soveraign.

But Sinke and Drownd
That Sterill, Poisnous, and Malicious Ground
Wher naught is found
Save Nettles, Hemlock, Henbane, or such weeds
As Mischief breeds
That such no more rise up to Choak and Spoile
The fertile Hopes of our Brittannike Soyle

Whilst in Their Roome
Let Trees-frute-promising with Coulers Come
Displayd and Bloome:
And meads in Natures Jewells deckt appeer
To Grace This year
With Daisy, Couslip, Primrose, Vilet, more
Than Any Season had ere Teem'd before
For Joy of His Return unto our shore.
