Upon his Majesties return out of Scottland in November 1641 wrot at Huntington in his passage
Doth Charles return to make our Climat shine
And shall not every Spring run Claret wine
Is not the Kalender reverst, and wher
Decembers dirt, and th'frost of Janiver
Threatn'd a winter now those sheets display
Themselves ore frutefull June or Teeming May:
For thus, as 'thin the Troppicks may we bost
That two fair seasons have twice blest our cost
'Ere one whol year ran round: the time He went
Seeming the Springes for-runner or our Lent
For soe He was but borrowed and we rest
With his return alone, whose interest
Suffitient of him self, in which bank lies
The treasure of His subjects harts and eyes
See how they flock else and with tumbling hast
Are less content because soe soon He past
Be satisfide, yea have your Prince again
Fro'th' North and Charles Triumphant not in wayne.
