Upon the Scotch Sermon that compared the Kirke to a horsse

Upon the Scotch Sermon that compared the Kirke to a horsse

The kirk's a horse, the preach'er sayd
Forsooth and sea say I
A foule unruly mistaught lade
A Cope carle certainly
For her best riders she hath cast
And Lay'd them all beside her
So that ther none dare now at Last
But dolefull Jockies ride her.

Her paces all are tint and gane
The feind a Strack she'l gang
But e'ne'as please her selfe alone
Gude faith my bird all's wrang.
And yet for all she has forgott
Mount we once mare I vow
Wee'l teach her, her owne pace and trott
And Canterbury too.
