Wisedom is Justefied of her Children
Wisedom is Justefied of her Children on the Epiphany
To justefy themselves three wisemen came
Out of the East to Holy Bethlehem
The Heavens were their call, a starr their guide
And soe the Twylight of their fayth was tryde
Herod did raign yet These their presents bring
Not unto Him, but to an Infant King
They were prophetick and did surely know
That from the root of Jess a branch should growe
To Scepter Juda and by Law compell
The stubborn hart of stiff-neckt Israell
And that the jewes might not alone heer sit
Under this light they come and Gentil it
Implying that restriction should be none
In the wide work of mans redemption
But Jew and Gentile, Bond alike as Free
Are not exempt from this Capacety
For's mercie's over all, and wher we miss
Of ransom 'tis our faults, and none of His.
