His Trinity Still Reigns

by Regina

Limerick City and Dublin gang violence,
Veronica Guerin told the story of the slaughter,
gunfire echoed, she was deceased,
agony of silence,
youth of war, no peace.

What of my cherish, my Eire's survival,
her eyes raining, in gray, downcast,
more stabbings, deaths of rivals,
so much loss of life with sudden blasts.

Eire's national history of bloodshed remains,
The Lord beholds her, weeps for her,
His Trinity still reigns.
