The Cocoon
The cocoon had weathered every storm
So that I stay protected & loved,
Like a queen in the prom
Curiosity got better of me one day,
I decided to venture out, to investigate.
I was shocked to see the cocoon's state
It was badly bruised & completely pale
The relentless cover, it had provided me,
Had ruined its spasticity
I was pained to see the state that it was in
I asked, what was the reason for its ruin?
The cocoon smiled back and said,
Get in and be safe
The rebel in me had tasted freedom that day,
Determined, I told the cocoon,
I will find my own way
The cocoon said, it knew the time would come one day
I asked, how will you heal from the wounds sustained
The cocoon said,
Just soar higher and higher above
That will be my tonic, to recover anyhow
I did as told, and to my surprise,
The cocoon recovered multi-fold.
