The Daisy and Her Sun

He knew how dearly she missed, longed for him
Every time she called, he swore to return
Part of her was gone, she started to dim
Nights he disappeared she grew in concern

This daisy would wilt without her dear sun
She wondered why the sun vanished at night
In shadows, her petals browned, came undone
To help her grow, she relied on his light

His poison and her never got along
For which she grew distant and resentful
It didn’t last long, her love for him too strong
Thoughts of unrequited love were hurtful

All she desired was her guiding sunlight
So she can rise and bloom all colors bright
