Don't Let Go

by idynne

When Earth’s malignant wonders
cleave mind from mind
and wit from wit
among the flush the profits split
to leave the substance plundered
and cloak the way with sweeping wiles
with bold veneers of faithful face
while aggravated psyches race
to recite
to rage
to revile
Still I find the monstrous scope
of sympathy smothered
of daunted hope
displaced by the simple power and grace
of one trembling hand clasping another
