The End Of All You Know

When you come to the end of all you know
And are either resting or at war
The things that you value most in life
Don’t matter anymore,
Unless
In the passion to prove one’s value within
You trod on the people you know
That carried you on through thick or thin
And listened to all your woes.
So
Grasping the hand of the caring
Inadequate though it may feel
To fetch us tea or bind our wounds
Even the ones we think are unseen.
Because
At the end there can grow a beginning
And war and peace, it comes and it goes
But friends can last forever
For when you have love it shows.
