In Heaven

In heaven there is no sorrow, no tears
No pride and no grief—no hate and no fears
Oh, for the glory of a day as a thousand years!
Where day is ever day and never arrived is night
How much we shall shine in God’s raiment bright!
An absence of darkness, and a presence of light
Where shunned all the wrong, and praised all the right
All loved ones once passed are calling your name
Oh, come to the kingdom of a God Who’s the same!
Wounded and suffered for all mankind’s sake
What sounds—oh, how lovely—with angels we’ll make!
Struck, pained and beaten to carry our sin
To defeat all this evil, so that goodness may win
To describe all these works! How can we begin?
Praise be to Jesus, Redeemer of men!
