Impossible Depth
Cold splashes at my feet as I balance, my body aligns, not quite with my sight at night so I glance
This slippery rock, surely the slime beneath my feet and sock
Will cause my slip, feet-first into a swampy dip
I sense a huge mass, dark eyes hiding directly before me reflecting on glass
Made quiet then still, don't gasp until...
But I didn't slip, instead ran full speed, rock after rock flying fast as a whip.
