A Journey

A grey sea, a dark sky, a cry
In dimness, catch shadows that fly
Our cause is not yet lost
Behind us, our lives, wave goodbye
Worn, cold and afraid, but we try
With nothing, there's no cost

Blue sky and bright sun, and a song
Warm moments like these keep us strong
Harder hours are to come
We look back, our stand, were we wrong
Too late, it's too late now, too long
Remember, and be numb

White rocks, shallow water, a hand
A breath - is it true? - as we land
One journey is complete
Unsteady, but ready, we stand
The beauty, the air and the sand
The sand beneath our feet
