Love Trials

by Nike

Once there was a story of a lad and a damsel in the castle of love
Their parents’ disdain were ramparts barging against their wishes
The malice of friends like fiery darts, piercing through trust
Disapproval from the elite were plagues clinging as glue to them
And the mere onlookers’ chagrin as thunderous noise in the air

A solemn vow to stay together come what may
Made by the hypnotic duo in no other manner
But Fate and Destiny refuted such a lovely story
For when the girl died in mystery by hate’s poison
The boy heard the tale and perished by sorrow’s venom
And so a barrage of tears to all their cherished hopes
Every drop of water in the world could not quench
The disbelief of all with such pretentious concerns
Neither would it allow callousness to burn so brightly
The story’s end  - a romance with a dreadful failure

A poet heard of the tale and wrote his poem, LOVE’S VANITY, to tell his readers to be wise,
A dramatist heard of the tearful story and wrote his play, LOVE GOES, to tell his audience to be pessimists,
A prosaist heard of the pitiful account and wrote his novel, EVILS AROUND LOVE, to tell his readers to be wary,
A musician heard of the tragic narration and wrote his song, LOVING YOU MORE, to tell his listeners to be decisive,
A little child heard of the the depressing news and wrote his words, LET LOVE BE CHERISHED AND NURTURED , SO THAT IF IT LEAVES ITS ABSENCE IS NOT SEEN AND IF IT STAYS ITS PRESENCE IS KNOWN.
