Not Just a Flirtation

Cherry-blossoms bud,

Brown trees become frilly pink,

He stands there softly.

Swift dark blue rivers

Reflect placid cloudless sky

He laughs, songbirds stop.

Dead leaves slowly twirl,

Geese moving south honk adieu,

He stares silently.

Slow, hot, crackling fires

burn, banks of white fluff pile up.

He smiles, ice shatters.
