Old age

I know not when a sneaky old man,
I know not how the heck he even can,
Snuck unbeknown to me into my life
when none there’s besides my wife?

A taciturn thief of skills much superior
I catch a glimpse whenever I pass a mirror
and alters my youthful face until the night
yet for the most part he stays out of sight.

With bend back and tremors in his hands
Unable to reach the top shelves as he stands,
He makes my robust spirit and body infirm
whenever I look into the mirror to confirm.

Once when I went to get my picture taken
I thought from his evil eyes I was forsaken,
He came along for driver’s license renewal
and made me look old, it’s downright cruel.
