remember me

by mutsa

A breath;
How is it that my life would stain the Earth
And then fade into crooning wind,
never to be seen again?
Blinking scents of songs that once framed the world fog the air,
But for the rustling shimmer of breeze and leaf
All I would heed is the violent staccato of the dead remains that fall and fall on the path below.
There are worlds wedged in the space between - life and death in the breadth of each exhalation.
Under burnt sky, in dimming amber light my heart stretches,
Bearing silent screaming face to the dying light: yawning anguish.
As lungs contract and life wafts out, starring sky breathe me
So under fading light the breath of me will ring long into the choking night.
Breathe.
