Sea Child

Icy blue eyes meet my gaze.
My fate is before me and yet,
Mute and silent I remain
I cannot utter a syllable to
Entreat the man to spare me.
A smirk graces his pale features
Amusement lighting up his cold eyes
“Won’t you beg dear?”
His voice echoes in my mind like
Waves crashing on the shore
Head held high I meet
His eyes
Muddy earth clashing with
The icy sea
“No m’lord.”
“I accept what comes to me,
As the daughter of the sea.”
