Snow Day

Anticipation awaits
and in the morning
the earth is dusted-
in white, powdered sugar.
Resting gently on the trees
slowly shuffling down with
the caress of the wind.
Footprints are sprinkled
throughout the ground,
proof of other human life.
Otherwise, one might believe
they are the only ones
on this magical day.
