A Subtle Disguise

I no longer complain
caged by abyss as she infringed on trust,
for I sought serenity in rain

quivering with vexation as numbness reigned,
I saw Benedict Arnold gain a disciple.
she could no longer complain

she shot me a glance of disdain,
a tacit signal was conveyed.
reluctant to find serenity in rain

in my room they left a stain,
visible to illusion fused eyes,
but I could no longer complain

years after my foundation was slain,
I cackled learning peace does proceed war
as I attained serenity from rain.

ignorantly I veered out of my lane,
soon gazing upon obscure roadside terrain.
bestowed with life, I no longer complain
rather I cherish the serene rush and roar of rain
