Unspoken Truths
I remember the way you looked at me,
Gaze so deep, seeming to pierce my very soul.
In a way that though we were surrounded by people,
We became the only ones that mattered.
We saw each other.
A fleeting moment stretched into an eternity,
And your eyes held a million questions.
Questions that I could not answer.
And yet deep within me, a quiet knowing resonated, Longing to be heard.
In that moment, words became unnecessary.
You understood without asking, a language beyond words.
And you saw beyond my exterior,
Past the layers I had wrapped around myself,
Uncovered the parts I thought I’d buried long ago.
And all that was left was me. Just me.
And I felt oh, so small, so vulnerable.
But I was seen –
The dreams I kept hidden, the longing to belong.
And in that gaze, I found solace,
A place that I could finally be me
Small, vulnerable, but free.
