When The Sky Melts

Layer by layer
turquoise, lavender, magenta
all melting, eloping
the sky is melting
top heavy
undeniable gravity
reaching the ground level
from there to where
through the cracks of despair
past the soles of my feet
any chance of reconstitution
no recreating the original illusion
the rainbow turned upside down hammock
stretched down to colorful pebbles
with no pot of gold
one day maybe
but it will be another sky
another horizon
