19th Weekly Poetry Contest winner: VICTORIA

by Bob Rodriguez

The past, without which there would be no now.
Brings forth a soul to ease those ill with strife.
Gives of herself as much as hearts allow.
And meets the man who she shall join as wife.
The two embark on that journey so dear.
At first, they two alone to climb the hill.
And then two pilose friends so loved appear.
‘T’would seem the tale complete, word not, for quill.
Then, lo, the visit of one Gabriel.
Almost on the very same day of name.
From the heavens the prime to cry, now fell.
And word of the arrival did proclaim.
There is but one that shall be called the first.
None else shall ever be so likewise nursed.
