Winter Dawn

Between verandah railings light is creeping,
At daybreak birds start flying east and west
Smell of the snuffed-out candles lingers still,
The bed-curtains' fragrance wafts on the dawn wind
No end to the ice-flowers blossoming everywhere,
Until they fade from the cold looking-glass.
