La Belle Dame de Tous les Jours

It speaks, it moves
there is a sound and alteration—
The hair
about the brow, the eyes
symmetrically turn—

This has no part
in what has been but smiles
in selfishness
unique—

against the snow
new-fallen beyond
the tropic window-sill
