I Wonder Why She Kept on Saying "Si-Si-Si-Si-Senor"

VERSE 1

In old Barcelona I met sweet Romona,
A cute little dancer was she.
Her dress was all spangled and when she fandangled,
Oh! boy what that gal did to me.
She threw her bolero way up in the air-o,
I think that they fed her on twist;
She had so much vigor, and oh! what a figure,
There wasn't a thing that I missed.

REFRAIN

I wonder why she kept on saying,
" Si-si-si-si-Senor. "
I thought she'd stop in an hour or two,
I kept on shoutin', " More power to you. "
With my little heart she kept playing,
And I wanted to si-si some more.
She wasn't too fat and she wasn't too lean,
But this little Queen shook a mean tambourine.
I wonder why she kept on saying,
" Si-si-si-si-Senor. "

VERSE 2

With each little wiggle she'd look up and giggle
And make my poor heart beat like this.
And heaven preserve us, she had me so nervous
I couldn't ask her for a kiss.
We might have got chummy, but I was a dummy,
I couldn't speak Spanish a bit.
I tried to console 'er without Espagnola,
But it didn't make any hit.

REFRAIN 2

I wonder why she kept on saying,
" Si-si-si-si-Senor. "
I thought that she'd stop in an hour or two,
So I started shoutin', " More power to you. "
With my little heart she kept playing,
And I wanted to si-si some more.
I'll never forget just how we two first met,
And oh! how I raved about her castanet.
I wonder why she kept on saying,
" Si-si-si-si, si-si Senor. "
