Karl Onyx

Down lay Karl Onyx for his end of time.
Germania led him at her apron-string,
An infant; Gallia housed him in his prime.
America, beneath her starry wing,
Gave shelter to the fighting man; & last,
The bosom of Britannia let him chafe
For leverage to those upliftings vast,
Whereon he schemed, the giant & the waif.
