A Humble Offering

O Mysterious Goddess, accept this humble offering from poor Leonidas: these savoury barley-cakes; this precious wild olive; this ripe fig, newly plucked from the tree; this twig of five grapes, torn from a bunch; and this meagre libation. If you will deliver me from this disease as well as from my wretched poverty, I will sacrifice a goat in your honour.
