                                                                                         Ratillo
                                                              A cat on the prowl, a rat in disguise.
                                                              Just look beyond those bedroom eyes.
                                                              At first a meow, and then a faint purr.
                                                              But the rat can’t hide his stench of the sewer.
                                                              At first glance you’re smitten.
                                                              The resemblance of a kitten.
                                                              Uncontrollable force draws you to take a look closer.
                                                              It’s a gnawing sense of unsettling exposure.
                                                              It wants you to see what it truly is.
                                                              And so you crouch and lean in for a pet.
                                                              A grave mistake you’re soon to regret.
                                                              You’re eyes soon catch a glance of sheer terror.
                                                              It’s the teeth that only a rat could mirror.
                                                              Razor-sharp, jagged, just like his nose.
                                                              Didn’t you smell me? It wasn’t a rose.
                                                              Trust your senses and keen intuition.
                                                              A rat is a rat and you’ll surely get bitten.
