Who’s at fault?
By: Know Now
We point our finger to the
Sky and say:
The man up there is at fault!
He is the one who caused
This!
God looked down at the
Trees burning,
The fish shoring,
The glaciers melting,
The animals dying,
And sighed.
God looked at man
And their factories,
His missing forests
Their oil and trash in the sea,
His animals in cages,
Their smoke in the air,
And shook his head.
We laugh as we raise
Our heads.
We laugh, not recognizing
Our faults as men.
As we always do.
God pointed his Finger
Down at us, saying:
If I am at fault, then you
Are too.
I have given you free will,
And you have turned
The only home that you love
Into something you hate.
Now, you find yourself
Wanting to escape what you
Created.
We look around us and sigh.
We hold our hands in our
Face and cry at what we’ve done.
We say:
What are we to do with the place
That we once lovingly called home?
