AFTER THE BALL .

When the heated dance is over,
?With what fatigue and pain,
We pass to the waiting carriage,
?That bears us home again!
So, when life's Bal Masque is ended,
?And the dancers are out of breath,
We are led to a black-plumed carriage,
?By the silent footman, Death!
