April

Heavenly Prince, so weak and small,
Grown-up folk are querulous;
Gross and stupid tyrants all;
Holy Baby, come with us.

We are they who understand;
Wit upgrown is little worth;
We are great in every land;
We are they who people earth.

Thee we hear the angels sing
Lord of all created things
Every one of us is king;
Come and be our King of Kings

In Thy house are perfect joys
To delight Thy royal heart:
Many dolls and other toys
In Thy palace set apart.

All Thy creatures, King, amaze Thee:
Colts and pups and furry whelps,
With ourselves, Thy subjects, praise Thee,
As they can, with pious yelps.
