Autumn Vista

The Yellow River winds along
the frontier walls of Han;
autumn winds upon the river,
flocks and flocks of geese!
Travelers pass over trenches
pursuing the wild horse;
generals with quivered arrows
shoot the Heavenly Wolf!
Yellow dust at the ancient ferry —
the transports lose their way;
silver moonlight beams through the void
and chills the battlefield!
They say that up here in the north
are many brave stratagems:
but where today are we to find
a man like Kuo Fen-yang!
