Of Bragging

The Car that has the Greater Speed will Show it,
And that which has the Louder Horn will Blow it.

Who brags about his Faults, no doubt
Has little else to brag about.

D ON'T Praise yourself, lest others Doubt and Grieve you;
Yet don't Dispraise yourself—they might Believe you.

O F all his Race, the Meanest One
Brags most of what his Race has done.

I T does not ease a Luckless One's Distress
To hear you brag about your own Success.
