To Cambria

C AMBRIA , montanos apices fluviosque ruentes
Pande viatorum delicias oculis:
Haec tua sunt formâ speciosa; haec digna tabellâ.
Sordes , et furias pectoris , abde, tui!

Oh, hide not, Cambrian , that Elysian dream ,
Your mountain summit, and your glittering stream
With pride of heart the picture's claim reveal —
The turbid passions and the dirt — conceal!
