Chariots

I NEVER saw the morning till to-day;
I never knew how soon night went away —
Day merely came a regular event;
Night merely went. . . .

Now day and night are chariots for me,
Since I have learned their mystery from you:
Day holding one and moving solemnly —
Night holding two.
