Far-Off Journey
On my far-off journey all round the Four Seas,
I looked up and down and gazed on the mighty waves
There was a vast, great fish like a mountain cove,
That creasted the waves, let them go sliding past
A magic turtle carried Fangzhang on its back,
There were spirit mountains, majestic, precipitous.
Immortals flew about the coigns of the hills,
While the Jade Girl was playing on their peaks.
Petals of jade were enough to dull my hunger,
Rinsed my mouth, head back, with mountain mist
Kunlun mountain is my original home,
The central provinces are not my dwelling place.
I shall return and visit Dongwangfu,
With a single bound, I shall cross the Moving Sands.
Beating my wings, I shall dance on the seasonal wind,
With a long whistle, I shall sing like the pure breeze.
Metal and stone easily crumble away,
But I shall be radiant as the sun and moon
Enduring as long as Heaven and Earth together,
What do I care for a realm of ten thousand chariots?
I looked up and down and gazed on the mighty waves
There was a vast, great fish like a mountain cove,
That creasted the waves, let them go sliding past
