A Helping Hand
If your brother has a burden
Why not lend a helping hand?
Maybe you're the one God's chosen—
Share his load and help him stand.
Have you ever had a problem?
Felt a handclasp warm and true?
Did you feel the power of prayer
From someone who cared for you?
Then I'm sure you will be ready
With a kindly deed or two
When you see a needy brother
For there's much that you can do.
You will never know the blessing
That your acts of kindness brought,
Nor the faith you helped to strengthen
When his aid through prayer you sought.
So when God calls each one of us
To show Christlike love again,
Let's work with willing hands and be
Like the Good Samaritan.
God tells us in His Word that we
Should comfort one another,
And if we really care enough
We'll stop to help our brother.
