Impatience soon calm'd

One Day a Trial did appear,
Confusion flush'd my Face;
I wish'd to fly, I knew not where,
No more to see that place.

But duty did prevent my flight,
I sought the Lord with speed;
Who said, he'd undertake for me,
And so he did indeed.

Quickly my Mind was hush'd to peace,
Confusion was not seen;
Methinks, I, with attention sat,
Nay, spoke and heard serene.
