Jolly Soldier

I once was a seaman stout and bold,
Ofttimes I've ploughed the ocean;
I've ploughed it all o'er and o'er again,
For honor and promotion.

Aboard a man-of-war and merchantman,
Many be the battles that I've been in;
It was all for the honor of George Washington,
And I'll still be the jolly, jolly soldier.
