Hurrah! for a day with the farmer
Away in the country so sweet.
Just peep in his beautiful orchard
And take a nice apple to eat.

Now come to the farmyard so noisy
And hunt for fresh eggs in the hay,
We'll see the fat turkeys and chickens
All crackling so loudly to-day.

We'll peep at the pigs and the horses,
Then off to the meadow we'll run
To play in the grass in the sunshine
And tumble and roll, Oh! what fun!

Oh, look at kind Betty the milkmaid,
She's off to the cowshed, I see.
She will take the new milk to the dairy:
I think there's a glassful for me.

How lovely and sweet is the country!
How happy the farmer must be!
We all love to pay him a visit,
His wonderful farmyard to see.
